Road to integrating the homeless into Society

The First Lady Foundation was established in 2008 by Bettina Gordon, who spent 40 years working in the financial services industry as an independent financial broker. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated supporter of women’s causes, with a particular focus on gender-based violence and homelessness. Her vision was to provide women with a safe place to live, while also empowering them through financial education, skills training, and job placement. The ultimate goal was to facilitate their rehabilitation and successful integration into society.

Unfortunately, Bettina passed away just before the official launch of The First Lady Foundation on December 22, 2011. Despite this loss, her legacy lives on through the foundation’s mission and work. As we relaunch the FLF, we aim to inspire a new generation to carry forward Bettina’s dream and continue her important work.

Safe Place

She was all about empowering women and making sure they had a place where they could feel secure and supported. Her vision was to create a cozy haven where women could be free from any kind of harm or danger.

Education & Job Placement

Empowering people through financial education, skills training, and job placement is like giving them the keys to unlock a brighter future. By teaching individuals how to manage their money wisely, providing opportunities for them to learn new skills, and helping them find suitable employment, we are essentially equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in life. It's about building self-confidence, independence, and a sense of purpose. Through these initiatives, we can break down barriers and create pathways for individuals to achieve their goals, reach their full potential, and ultimately improve their quality of life.
